Release Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an engaged colleague ready to take the next internal step as Release Manager. In this role, you will lead and coordinate our release processes to ensure high quality and efficient deliveries. You already know our business and want to contribute further with your sense of structure, attention to detail, and drive to improve ways of working.

You will be responsible for releasing new versions of Mercur’s products—both for cloud-based and on-premise environments. This includes close coordination with developers, testers, and the cloud team, following up on status, managing release documentation, and ensuring that all steps in the release checklist are completed accurately and on time. A key objective is to simplify the process by reducing administration, increasing release frequency, and shortening time-to-release.

Example of task assignments:

• Monitor the stream of Jira incidents and bugs—support prioritization and ensure fixes are scheduled for relevant releases.

• Determine when a new release is needed and decide which fixes to include.

• Set check-in bans to prevent additional changes close to release.

• Build new release versions and create standardized MSI packages.

• Document new releases in Confluence and Jira.

• Coordinate releases for both cloud and on-premise environments.

• Follow up on release steps and ensure all checklist items are completed.

• Communicate with developers, testers, and the operations team to ensure smooth and predictable deliveries.

• Maintain and improve documentation and routines related to release management.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is meticulous—an advocate for tidiness and structure.

• Has at least moderate knowledge of Mercur’s current offering.

• Collaborates well and communicates clearly.

• Enjoys working independently and takes initiative to improve processes.

• Is fluent in both Swedish and English.
